People can’t imagine an “imaginary” thing.
For many people who don’t understand depression and don’t consider it as a real thing, they are trying to grapple with an arduous task of having to imagine, something they have already labelled as “imaginary” owing to their various cognitive biases. By that very tautological reasoning, depression isn’t real.
Quora encourages if not rewards what I consider to be one of the absolute worst habits of the digital age: passive information grazing.
